Batam is mainly industrial, you can see a few oil rigs if you like, just kidding. you go to bintan, its close by. you can also go to singapore which is 30-45 min by ferry. Singapore has many things you can do. If you are American, I think you don't need to obtain visa. have a good trip
ohh dear...you better flee to Singapore....batam will be so boring.
Anyway....I dont know where you are from , but Batam imported stuff can be cheaper than....ummm Jakarta
