Travelling to SIngapore and HK with passport valid for only 5 months more...will I be okay? |
Travel Info I want to know if I will have a problem travelling to these 2 countries with my passport to expire in 5 months...?I will stay in SG for 2 weeks only. Travel Tips All the countries in Asia that I have been to -- Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan require a passport that is 6 months valid from the date of departure. Others If you're an American some countries require your passport be valid for 6 months past your visiting dates or they won't let you in. This is from the US Passports page: NOTES: Some countries require that your passport be valid at least six months beyond the dates of your trip and/or have two to four blank visa/stamp pages. Some airlines will not allow you to board if these requirements are not met. If you are behind in child support payments, you may not be able to get a passport. See Child Support . I've linked the correct section of the passport info. This passage is in the first section, bullet point 6. http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/ren... the minimum validity for passports is six months, i think this applies wherever u go You need a minimum of 6 months validity, the airlines won't let you board for these destinations with a passport that doesn't have 6 months validity. They will foot the bill of sending you back when you are denied entry.... best to get yoiur passport renewed before you travel. |
