Iwo Jima is a tiny island south of Japan in the Pacific ocean,at N 24掳47'27"87"' and E 141掳19'16"14"'. It is Japanese territory. Saipan is the largest in a chain of Islands in the Pacific ocean South of Iwo Jima and the capital of the US commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands at 15掳10鈥?1鈥漀, 145掳45鈥?1鈥滶. When you mention Midway I assume you're refrencing Midway Atoll which is about one-third of the way between Honolulu and Tokyo at 28掳13鈥睳 177掳22鈥瞁Coordinates: 28掳13鈥睳 177掳22鈥瞁. All in the Pacific, google them or go to wikipedia.org for more details.

Others
Iwo Jima and Saipan are still Japanese territories...Midway is part of the Hawaiian island chain (and consequently still a US possession).
All US territories. Iwo Jima is in Colorado, and Saipan/Midway are two halves of the same island in the South Pacific that we own.
Iwo Jima is a volcanic island of Japan, part of the Volcano Islands (the southern part of the Ogasawara Islands)
