Why isn't Iran listed on this page? Probably because there haven't been enough questions to open a new category. If you go to the bottom of the left column, click on Yahoo products, then click on Yahoo Answers and post your question there. You might get an answer from someone who knows how these categories get chosen. I seriously doubt that "Iran chatrooms have been banned until the innocent British soldiers are released." But it could be true. The current government of Iran obviously has pretty strong feelings about the way it's been treated by the West. Unfortunately, the way they tend to express their anger and displeasure is almost guaranteed to get them at least a figurative kick in the teeth and alienate most of the world in the process. They apparently do not share the Western idea of the "rule of law", so there is little room for either dialogue or compromise. They are not alone, of course: Burma, China, Libya, North Korea, Zimbabwe, the former rulers of Iraq and Afghanistan ... Sounds like a lot, but remember there are almost 200 member nations in the UN, and the recent vote to impose sanctions for their refusal to shut down their nuclear program was unanimous. hmmm. Time for a reality check. Sorry, that was a bit off topic, but it MIGHT explain the antipathy, if indeed there is any, toward giving Iran a page of its own in this forum ... |
