Best Asian Cuisine? |
Travel Info Which Asian country do you think has the best cuisine and why. Lets say in term of taste, nutritious, less fat, etc. Travel Tips Probably not Chinese cuisine, because most of Chinese cuisine uses oils, like frying and stir fry. I'll go with Vietnamese Cuisine, I like the authentic Vietnamese Spring Rolls. Second is Thai Cuisine, but not those super hot orders, Phad Thai Noodles and Tom Yang soup are my favorites. Third is Chinese Cuisine, Peking Duck. Lastly, don't forget Filipino cuisine like Pork Adobo, Roasted Native Chicken, Fish Sinigang, Pochero, Kaldereta and Dinuguan. Others That is a very difficult question to answer. I have traveled all of Asia and the food is great everywhere. I've been to mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, India and even Burma (Myanmar). I've eaten in fine-dining restaurants at the grandest hotels, in the streets from humble roadside vendors, and in the family homes of the indigenous people. While I've never been to the respective country, I have tasted Pakistani, Malaysian, Korean, and Turkish food. I supposed if someone were to put a gun to my head and force me to chose, I would pick Thailand. The flavors are complex and savory, while the ingredients are nutritious and low in fat. While Bangkok has some of the world's finest chefs and restaurants, nothing beats Thai food cooked from fresh ingredients in a wok on real charcoal fires in the rice farming villages of the rural provinces. Leave the city and go back-packing! Mmmmmmm . Thai is the best and I think healthiest. They have great soup entrees. Pad Thai is awesome, too. They use a lot of vermicelli and lemongrass. They don't have thick sauces like a lot of Chinese dishes do. You don't feel disgustingly full afterward. They use a lot of nice crisp vegetables and bean sprouts in their dishes. I feel like Chinese dishes are always served with mushrooms and broccoli. Thai food uses coconut milk in a lot of recipes. And they also use tofu a lot. Even though tofu really doesn't have a big nutritional value, it will fill you up with out feeling like your veins are sluggishly pumping with the sauce from General Tso's Chicken. I also LOVE sushi as well as edamame (soy beans), so Japanese food comes in at the top of my list. Honestly, I love Thai food the most but I end up eating Chinese the most because that's is what is convenient. http://www.thai-food.com/recipes/recipes... Hate Thai food, love Jap food. Loves Singaporean food and to a lesser extent, Malaysian food. I love Japanese food the best especially sushi and maki. I also like the miso soup and ebi tempura. Korean food is also good...kimchi and their beef stew. When it comes to Filipino food...kaldereta and adobo are the best in terms of taste but adobo may sometimes be too oily. Chinese (Peking Duck is very tasty but has too much cholesterol), Vietnamese and Thai are also okay but I don't like Singaporean, Malaysian and Indonesian food. I am also not a fan of Indian food because I don't like curries. Thai is my favorite asian cuisine. Must be Thai. No other cuisine can boast such a heady mix of spices, sweetness and sourness in such a delicious way. Most of the food seems pretty healthy too except for the fried stuff of course. |
