Where to go????? Decision day.?

I have asked this question before but I deleted the answers so here goes again.
I want to go on a holiday overseas. This is what i want from the trip.

1. Somewhere safe for a woman on her own.
2. Beaches, sun.
3. markets - cheap.
4. Culture, but nothing too crazy and adventurous.
5. Yummy food.
6. A cheapish place. ie Europe is expensive.

and I don't want to go to where i have been before. These are Thailand, Bali, India, nowhere in Australia, fiji and I have been put off Turkey, so not there either.

Since you posted the question under "Asia Pacific", I assume you'd like to travel around this region sometime within the next couple of months.

How about central Vietnam? Fly into Danang (airport code: DAD), bus or cab it to Hoi An (45 mins south) ... UNESCO heritage site, also with (apparently) fab beaches. Have not been there yet but planning to in December.

Also Ko Samui (Thailand ... ok I know you said you've been to Thailand but have you been to Ko Samui?), anywhere on the East Coast of Malaysia (no it's NOT dangerous even though it's Muslim and yes, they serve alcohol in all but one state. Please note that East Coast resorts are only open March to October), Davao or Cebu in the Philippines.

Other Travel Tips

Cali or Florida
Guatemala has some fantastic black sand beaches on its west coast and has some Bohemian style beaches on its east coast. Belize is awesome and affordable as well. They're not as touristy as some of the Mexican beaches and offer a ton of charm.
Singapore. It is totally safe for a woman on her own The things are not that cheap though but they had good food. Beaches in Singapore are not so nice but you can take a ferry to a offshore island. The beaches there are not bad. There is alot of sun too maybe too much for us, but u may like it.
Hi, I would like to recommend Langkawi Island or Penang Island on the West coast of Malaysia.

1) Generally safe
2) Beaches & Sun - so you will have a good tan
3) Morning arket - yes, cheap. Night markets too.
4) More culture on Penang Island
5) Penang Island offers better variety of food but Langkawi's beer is dirt cheap
6) CHEAP

It's also Visit Malaysia Year 2007, so come on out! Add Malaysia to the places you've been. Seriously, none of my friends regret visiting Malaysia.

Safe for a woman on her own, lots of beaches and sun, nice culture, yummy food and definitely cheap :)
