We can't afford to pay to fly to Bora Bora or any of the other islands. But I'm not sure if it's worth the trip to the main Island. Has anyone visited there before and give me some insight?

OMG - YESS!! Tahiti is beautiful and laid back - there isnt much super-active sports stuff to do... just relax!!! Take some tours to the inner parts of the island and maybe some day cruises. I was there in 2005 for 2 weeks. The best thing to do is to use the local 'bus' system and go to the markets that the locals use and buy supplies for a picnic next to a waterfall. |
