Hi there,

There's a lot of good info on this site - it's the official government site for Aus immigration, so you know it's basically up to date and accurate
http://www.immi.gov.au/immigration.htm...

There are a few classes of visa that might be applicable depending on the status of your relationship. If you are engaged, you can apply under a prospective marriage visa subclass 300. Under this one, she would have to enter Australia, get married, and then within 9 months would have to show evidence of the marriage and go through the next stage of visa applications. After two years, if you are still married, she could become a permanant resident.

If you don't plan to be married, it is a little trickier but still possible. You would have to show that you were living together in an exclusive relationship for a minimum of 12 months prior to her application for the visa. Again, it is a temporary visa for two years, and if the relationship still stands after 2 years she could apply for permanant residency.

Either way, you would have to list yourself as her sponsor which means you will need to take responsibility for her when she arrives, sometimes meaning that you need to show that you are financially able to support the two of you until she can work.

If this is not a long term relationship, she may still be eligible based on her employment - visit the same website but look for the 'workers' section. Lots of professions are in demand and allow for people to apply on the basis of wanting to work in Australia.

Hope this is helpful! Source(s): I've been through it and moved here myself.

It is certainly not easy to immigrate from Singapore to Australia. There are a variety of options. If she can get a job in Australia with a company that is willing to sponsor her then she will be able to live in Australia on a working visa.
If she wants to study at an Australian institution Student Visas are relatively easy to apply for and they allow the student to study in Australia and work up to 20 hours a week in other employment. Once she graduates from an institution she has to work for a company related to her course for at least 15 of the next 18 months and then will be elligible for permanent residence.
Marriage is another option and a spousal visa will allow her a lot of freedom to do as you please. If you are not interested in getting married if she gets a student visa and lives with you in a De facto relationship (living togther but not married) for 12 months she can also apply for this visa and as long as you continue to live togther she can maintain that visa until she fulfills requirements for permanent residence (PR).
I hope this is helpful. I am currently helping a friend find ways to stay in Australia too.
What is most important is to make sure that you read all the visa requirements of whatever visa she applies for and as long as she follows them your gf should have no trouble nor risk deportation.
