I'm visiting Brisbane & Gold Coast end of May'07. Is it cold? |
Travel Info What kind of clothes need to prepare during the visit? Travel Tips It has been a bit cool overnight and in the mornings, but the days get to be quite warm, if not pretty darn hot! I always make the mistake of dressing in a heavy shirt in the morning and then go out and become so hot during the day! There is occasionally a fresh breeze during the day, but I seriously doubt you'd need any more than a light cardigan/long sleeved shirt if that is the case... It is really lovely weather (if not still too dry) at this time of year. Enjoy your holiday :-) Others http://sg.weather.yahoo.com/asxx/asxx001... you can always check its weather via the yahoo weather website ;) it can be chilly but not freezing .... it is cold in the mornings but warm in the days The latest official forecasts come from the Bureau of Meteorology The Gold Coast forecast is here: http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.p... The Brisbane forecast is here: http://www.bom.gov.au/products/idq10095.... In general it is cooler in the mornings inland than it is near the coast. It is possible to get frosts on the higher ground. During the day, however, you can expect maximum temperatures in the low to mid 20s which is very pleasant (70-80掳F if you don't use Celsius). I was up there yesterday in shorts and a t-shirt and was out till after 11pm without feeling cold. about 25% daytime about 14% nighttime The locals will tell you it's cold. They have no idea what "cold" is. Put it this way: if they get a frost, it will make the nightly news (seriously). It will never, ever, ever snow. Snow is something they see on American TV shows. Practical advice: don't bother with scarves, gloves, heavy overcoats, or lots of layering. Most people who live in Brisbane or the Gold Coast don't even own this type of clothing. A light jacket will be enough to survive even the coldest winter days up there. gets cool overnight - but I wouldnt say cold enough to put a wooly jumper, ugh boots or beanie on. depends on what you classify as cold! you are still able to walk around with shorts, skirts, thongs (on your feet), t-shirt, singlet, whatever pleases you and probably chuck some jeans on at night - if going out on the town...... go swimming with the cool clear water on your body - and sunbake if looking for a tan still. ENJOY! |
