Healthcare in Australia is excellent but it can be pricy. Unless you have private health insurance, you will have to wait for elective surgery. If you are unemployed, over 65, have a disability or health problems that prevent you working you get free treatment in public hospitals and from many general practitioners. Pharmacy costs are much reduced as well.
