Cost of Migration to Australia?

Hi there,
I am hoping to apply for a skilled migration visa for myself and hubby as we are both nurses. Not sure of the cost as yet. Does anyone the the cost in English pounds (know it says in oz dollars) per person please? We are applying for us two skilled adults and 2 children.

Any help appreciated. have been on the Australian High commisions website and downloaded the paper work but am unable to see any prices.

i was an overseas student here and im applying for PR (permanent residency) currently...
for nurses, u dun have to worry abt getting a job or getting a pr here....u guys are of extreme values to aust

if u could find someone to sponsor u..(like govt or employer) .itd be faster ..but if not,...it's still fairly fast...around 2 months wait from the date u actually lodged the application and if all necessary docs have been supplied with at the time of of lodging the application. But u can still provide the docs after u lodge the application ...one by one or all at once...dun really matter ...only the time taken to get the pr will be affected abit

the total cost will be around british pound 2300 = AUD$ 5534 for one person , if u guys are applying on ur own...

the application fees for aussie PR to the immigration department is brit pound 1976 = $AUD 4755 depends on which visa option u choose or able to choose..
plus cost to get ur qualification certified by an authority for nurses..thats recognised by aussie govt..
plus postage
plus health check
plus criminal records check in uk and maybe in aust
plus possible certification and translation from an authority for all ur docs.
but these 5 things are of insignificant amounts.

and if u dun like the hassles, u can apply thru lawyers or migration agent, which is hard to find a good one from my experience..since each migration consultant in different agent has varied performance. let alone the reputation or performance of an agency company...and u gona have to do alot of filling out the info as well...cant escape that......trust me u do most of the paper work urself ...agent can't help u much except providing some answers.......but roughly, in australia, it's gonna cost u another uk pound 540 to 679 for a lawyer for one person....and around uk pound 332 to 440 for an agent for one person...any amount beyond or below that ...thats probably a scam or sth...but these are only legal fees or agent fees remember...but i duno the agent fees outside aust....OOOoops ...forgot abt ur kids.....u can find the info as follows..http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/family/c...
im not sure abt the cost for them though...but all info sud be in there.....goodluck to yall !!!!

just apply on ur own if u have time and knowledge. i spent 1634 AUD for 3 questions that i couldnt answer. but the answers turned out to be no difference to what i have thought to be...so ...make ur choice.... Source(s): personal experience and from my frds' ones as well

whether it's faster thru an agent or not is of much debates ...seems some of the people that i know who applied on their own in australia got their PRs 1 or 2 months faster but im not sure about offshore application...

E.mail " Tuksie" it is true, you, just need to fill out paperwork, get yourself a COMPLETE MEDICAL ALL OF YOU including X.rays, present the lot to the Embassy, you can get assisted trip very very easy, they are crying for Nurses, you will love it here once you give it a chance, i did Danish now Aussie for 36 years and NO regrets!!!

I went through the process with the aid of a Migration Agent (Southern Cross Alliance). I guess that, if you choose to do it on your own, it will cost around US$ 3.000, but it will take you longer that it took me (one year)
