Australia Climate? |
Travel Info How is Australia major city's climate (Sydney and Brisbane for instance) in the most days of a year? I mean the lowest and highest temperature, and also what kind of clothse shall I take with me for a year in there? Travel Tips Australia's climate is nothing like that of Massachusetts. Massachusetts is further north than Australia is south. Australia stretches from about 40掳S in Hobart to 10掳S in Darwin. Half the country is in the tropics, none of the continental USA is. The best place to check on the climate is the Bureau of Meteorology web page at http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/ Click on "data, statistics and maps" to see maps of temperature and rainfall etc or specific figures for many different places. Sydney, for instance, is here: http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/t... Others As far as I know, Australia's climate is similar to the Massachusetts/Connecticut climate during the spring and summer...In the winter, I think that the lowest temperature is around just about freezing or a little below, and the highest is probably no more than 100-110... And for clothes, just bring what you would for weather in the northeast... queensland is subtropical - so shorts & t shirts most of the year with a beanie, ugg boots & track suit for cooler nights in winter. sydney is dressier & has colder winters. if you plan on spending a year in oz. then don't pack much. Clothing is very cheap to buy & the op shops are full of good quality clothes. You can find out the current weather for any city in australia on the internet so check it out just before you set out on your trip. www.totaltravel.com www.yahoo7.com.au I lived in Brisbane for 2 years it has warm 40c (104f) and mild winters 15c (59f) but these are just averages. It also gets very humid in summer. it is very hot during summer....between 30-38....it is humid in Brisbane....in general apart from 4 months during winter you just need a T shirt HI well i live here and where now in winter....now sydney winter can be 4 deg c...maybe below 0 at times to so warm pjs..we have been having nice days though around 16 to 18 deg c so t - shirt then sweater as the evenings and mornings are cool a lot of ausie people tend to wear jeans and a nice shirt even to go out thats the main dress....summer shorts and t-shirts we have been having some hot summers 2 summers ago it reached 48 deg c..now Queensland is different it humid and tropical type weather so in June say its freezing in sydney you can travel to Queensland which people do and lay on the beach its hotter there in winter around 26 deg so its nice....just depends what you like i guess and queensland is cheap the food and accomodation...but as someone said clothes can be cheaps depends where you go to buy them but to give you an idea probably $15.00 to $20.00 new for a t-shirt but as someone said op shops which are second hand shops..i would pack mix and match clothing so you can change your look just by putting different things together..... |
