Which is a good place to tour in Australia? And is it cheaper to visit New Zealand after Aus? Any Farm Stay? |
Travel Info I am taking my mom who is 57 and my son who is 4 years old and my maid. I intend to go for farm stay. Any sites or details will be useful. Travel Tips Lonely Planet is a very good site to start with. It has the info about all the good places in EVERY country, accomadation, sites, ect. But as for a farm stay, you would want to pick your area carefuly. Australia is in the middle of one of the worst droughts in recorded history - something like 15 years in some places. Heading to tropical Queensland would be the most fun. New Zealand tends to have a lower exchange rate (which is good if your currency is strong) so it's cheaper, but no less expensive than Australia in comparison. If you wanted to do both countries, then I'd stay to the east coast of Australia (Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne) then head over to Auckland afterwards. I would personaly recomend Melbourne as a good destination to go to. It is much more different than either Sydney or Brisbane, and has a lot to offer. But it entirely depends on what your aiming to do. Source(s): http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/d... Other Travel Tips no New Zealand is more expensive and they are very good at ripping you off. I disagree that NZ is a rip off. As mentioned earlier, you are saving with exchange rates and all anyway, really there is not much difference in price between the two countries, except perhaps fuel prices. (Roughly 20-30cents per litre dearer) New Zealand has some beautiful farm land, for a real slice of country, I'd be inclined to point you in the direction of either Cantubury/Otago (in the south island) or the Waikato region (in the north island). While the north island is more and more becoming the bustling business end of the country, the south island promises a more relaxed and laid-back approach -and they're super friendly in the south too! Admittidly, I haven't seen much farm land in and around Australia yet, but so far no blade of grass has come close to the greeness of that found in NZ. |
