Travel Info What is best tourist guide book for New Zealand for two people probably in a motor caravan? Travel Tips 1. forget your guide books.. do some hours of research on the net, not only will you be able to view different regions via the picture, media online but you can also get a feel for tourist attractions. 2. write to the new zealand embassy and ask for their tourism information regards various regions you have researched on the net, not only will they give you an unbiased opinion on attractions etc but they will also be able provide you with details such as phone numbers and various different forms of sound advise. i hope this helps Source(s): me- a travel agent 9 years and counting. Other Travel Tips The guy above is right. Just get in and drive. If possible, get lost. Its a great way to see NZ. Thats the way I did it. I know its so over used but Lonely Planet is always a good place to start as a where to go guide (the prices are always wrong tho!) if you have specific questions Ive been told thorntree(?) on their website is good. Its really easy to buy cars/camper vans over there once you arrive. If you go to any hostel (and pretty much every town has one) you will see fliers with details. Everywhere was pretty easy to find when I was over there & I dont think we even had a proper road map, we just relied on road signs! You don't need a tourist guide book. Just call into any cafe, pub or backpackers and they have enough local knowledge to keep you going. Have a safe trip and make sure your driving on the correct side of the road oh, and get accustomed to the driving rules. 1 more thing watch out for the idiots - there will be lots of them! Lonely Planet never fails to please. |
