Travel Info What's life like in New Zealand . is it a nice country to live in? Travel Tips New Zealand is an awesome place to live... just don't judge it by Auckland. It's a great country to live in, I recommend the Whangarei / northland area (just what I'm familiar with - no offence to the sth hehe) The people there are friendly, helpful, cruisy and down to earth. And the countryside is breathtaking. Housing is still quite cheap there too... unlike Auckland. And in northland, you're usually never further than 30mins from a beach. Others never been there, looked good in the LOTR movies I like it....I lived in the UK for 2 years and was happy to return to the lifesyle ( but I miss things like transport, travel and good shopping)...its more laid back, people are more friendly and helpful (less remote)....USUALLY! there are of course the people who are spoiling this. People tend to get involved with things here, I guess coz its so small and you learn about things more. New Zealand is the most beautiful country on earth. If you are looking for a clean green lifestyle, this is definitely the place for you. Weather - South Island very cold North Island cold Summer in New Zealand only last, unfortunately, for about 3 months and then you are straight into Winter for the next 9 months. I dunno about the answer above. I've only been to NZ in the winter and it's great. Similar to the Pacific Northwest in the US if you've been there. I suppose if you're a total weenie about 60 degree weather then you wouldn't like it. But it's very green, great beaches, the people are very friendly. My uncle is from there and he's about the nicest guy on earth. |
