Would you consider Palau a good location for swimming in the sea and having a barbeque?

It's a bit far if you live in Australia, you couldn't just pop over for lunch even if you owned your own jet. If you live in Sydney there are some lovely beaches both north and south where you can swim in the sea and have a barbecue. You can get there by bus too which is much easier than flying 8000km.
