Do they call summer 'winter' in austrailia? |

Australia is in the southern hemisphere where it is winter now, while it is summer in the northern hemisphere. . . anything north of the equator. For them mid winter is on June 21 as opposed to European and North American mid summer on the same date. I guess they do technically, since our summer is when the northern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun and the southern (Australia) away...so yea, probably. Well yes it is still winter, you will find every country still has a period of months that is called winter the temperature and weather of each country's winter however will differ and not everywhere has a particularly cold winter. Of course winter in the southern hemisphere is at the same time as summer in the northern. |
