My 2 step sisters are traveling to Australia in a few days for a 2 months stay.? |
Travel Info They are ages 7 and 10. They will be traveling with a family friend. Their mother lives in Australia and is now asking for their visa. I know they need a notorized written consent form since they are not traveling with a parent but i did not think you need a visa when visiting for a couple of months. (my understanding was you only needed a visa when the stay was longer than 90 days) I was wondering if any one could help with this situation. We will try to get in touch with someone tomorrow during business hours but in the mean time any information would be appreciated. thanks! Travel Tips This is the website for: http://www.immi.gov.au/ The Australian Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship. It should provide you with some helpful info until you can contact someone during business hours. Good luck. Is their mother Australian? If she is, you'd think the girls would be eligible for dual citizenship. I have two friends who are sisters, their Mum is Australian and their Dad is from the U.S. They easily obtained dual citizenship. I believe it had to be applied for and granted prior to their 18th birthdays. I'm not certain on that though. Source(s): http://www.immi.gov.au/ Other Travel Tips my son and i went there and all we had to have was a pasport but we only stayed for six months that was in 1990 but you can look at the visa office for that information they will give you the requirements you need a visa to enter Australia no matter how long or short your stay, you can get electronic visa's on line |
