How much do you earn for a paper run in Australia? |
Travel Info How much do you earn for a paper run in Australia? Travel Tips We do not usually have boys on bicycles delivering newspapers in Australia. The local newspaper here is delivered by a man in a car at about 4.30 - 5am. The car usually is small and has a cut down door so he can throw the paper with one hand while steering with the other. He usually contracts to the newspaper or to a "newsagency" which is a store where newspapers, magazines, books and stationery items like pens, writing paper and such items are sold. Others the national papers don't have paper runs - the newsagent shops deliver papers as part of their service. They may employ a person to do the deliveries for them & it's an individual contract. local freebie papers pay to have theirs delivered - but it's large runs & you need a car - not worth it. check with your local rural press. www.ruralpress.com I had a paper round for the local paper when i was about 15 - it really sucked. I think i got paid about $6.50AU an hour and it took such a long time!!! Up and down the hills with houses that were far apart. |
