I'm 18. How can I find a ship to work on that will take me to Australia? |
Travel Info I'd like to work on a trawler or whatever from the U.S. to Australia. What companies would I contact? What kind of work? My dad said that working on a cruise ship is like slave labor if you are doing physical work. Is he right? Travel Tips Working on any ship is tough, however the problem with doing so on a cruise is everyone else is having fun. There are no cruise ships running between USA and Australia, at least not on a regular basis. Your best bet is to check with the shipping companies out of the ports and see who goes their direct. You can get that info from the Port of Los Angeles, Port of Long Beach, Port of San Diego and Port of Oakland websites (you can add SF and Seattle if you wish but they are much smaller ports). However I should warn you, most shipping companies don't just hire people off the street. You might want to look into a maritime training program too. Good luck Others buy yourself a small yacht, and sail over via tahiti, they go from only a few thousand,be adventurus |
