is there a replica castle in the lismore area (nsw, australia)? was told by a friends mum that there was, but i cant find it on the net. i know theres one in bli bli, but thats ages away from where were staying.

Yulgilbar castle at Baryulgil. Drive west from Lismore through Casino towards Tabulam. About 40km west of Casino, before Tabulam, turn left onto the Clarence Way and Baryulgil is about 50km down the road. Baryulgil was the site of an asbestos mine and many of the local Aboriginal population died of mesothelioma. The mine is long shut now.

The castle is on Yulgilbar station and was at one stage open to the public but it is now a private home. Google Yulgilbar castle for some pictures and more information.

By the way, Baryulgil is pronounced bar-yoogle and Yulgilbar is yoogle-bar. Source(s): I live in the area.
