What's the weather like in New Zealand? |
Travel Info I know there are glaciers on the south island - so it's probably cold there. what about further north? is it warm like australia? are there nice beaches? where can i find some average temp. data for different places in NZ? Travel Tips Weather in NZ is not like Australia. Nelson - top of the south island is the most sunniest city. closely followed by Blenheim. NZ does really have 4 seasons ... It can get pretty cold in winter. Obviously yes, further south you go the more freezing it gets. For example the hottest today was 15 degrees and the coldest -3 degrees. (off nz met site) For all weather info and data stats visit the NZ Met Service http://www.metservice.co.nz Radar imagery here - http://www.metservice.co.nz/default/inde... Beaches - Nelson, Abel Tasman - Bay of Plenty areas.... Others NZ is known for 4 seasons in one day!!!! You can go skiing in the morning and be on a surf beach in the afternoon. Depending on where you are from the weather is either bitterly cold or nicely clement (in Auckland, we think it is freezing when the temp hits single digits (like 9)). Check out the NZ Herald website (daily paper) it has weather for NZ and should give you a clue. www.nzherald.co.nz PS If you post questions about NZ in Australia - General, Kiwi's will be offended! |
