Travel Info Hi folks, going to Australia for a year backpacking/working, how much money is a good ammount to arrive with?? Travel Tips i would say about $6000 AUD (australian dollars). depending on what city you plan to base yourself in. Im from Sydney, and it can be quite expensive, but still reasonable.. other places like brisbane are a bit cheaper.. youll find a way to live cheap! (im in europe at the moments, and all i eat is 2 minute noodles lol). hope you have an awsome time!! Others my mate took a few thousand then worked for her keep when she ran out. she had a fantastic time and is now back there applying for residency. have a good time As much as you can have, you'll need it. I have heard they have banks there. AUS$200 will get you a shuttle from airport and a bed and meal. They have ATMs just like home so you don't need to carry much cash. a lot but don't bring to much cash in with you have a credit card or ATM card cash you must declare you should arrive with enough cash for one month's living. Customs & immigration will send you back if they think you don't have enough. So make sure you have a cashcard/credit card & a bank statement or two with you to show them if they query you - also a return flight to your home country. yha cost about $20 per night = $600/month food another $30/day (eat lots of 2 min. noodles lol)=$900/month public transport $10/day=$300/month www.yha.com.au |
