I believe some people are confused when they refer to New Zealand as being apart of the 'Oceania' continent, as there is no such thing. New Zealand is in the Oceania region- Oceania is a geopolitical region, rather than a continent, consisting of many countries in the Pacific Ocean, including those in the continent of Australia and the Pacific Islands.
