How much money would i need to travel around austrailia for three months? |
Travel Info accomodation and spending money, will have already paid for the oz experience bus Travel Tips I am australian and on a really tight budget at the moment, so I can give you some realistic figures. All money is in AUSTRALIAN dollars. theres a converter here - http://www.xe.com/ucc/ $4000 for accomodation. This is at $45 per night. While you can live cheaper than this most of the time, sometimes, depending on where you are or what accomodation is available, you will have to spend extra, so you need to be prepared for it. $1000 for food. This is at $70 per week, which means you would have to cook all your own meals because it is cheaper that way. if you intend on eating out - add more. $1000 for spending money at $70 a week - it might seem a lot but this is minimum, your biggest mistake would be under estimating those little costs and emergencies that might arise. this will include - 1. other transport - like trains, cabs, buses etc - dont think you wont need these because you have paid for the Oz experience. Oz towns and citys are very spread out, you will need these inbetween the bus trips to get you to where you need to go, at least maybe 2 a week. 2. nessecities. things like soap/shampoo/medications/other bills and what ever else pops up. 3. extra spending money - to go places that cost money, to buy things you like etc So you will need $6000 minimum all together. If you come home with spare money, great - but dont get stuck overseas broke, it will make your vacation very unpleasant. This of course isnt including airfares. From new york, I have never paid more than $1300US. If you are paying more, dont. .
