Travel Info When is the driest time of the year to go to Australia? Travel Tips ~Hey mate, don't be thinking about coming down under if you be thinking about not drinking when you get here. We sent all our teetotalers to Samoa hundreds of years ago and if you be coming dry, we be putting you on the barbie and feeding you to the Abos and roos. Others The weather patterns have changed so much in the last few years, you just can't tell when it is going to rain. It's normally fairly dry this time of year but it has been really rainy. As most of the continent is in a severe drought any time will do at the moment. Normally, it totally depends on where you want to visit. The north usually has wet summers. The south wet winters. The far north has the monsoon season most of the summer. At the present time it's anybody's guess when we'll get good, steady, rain again, if ever. dry its dry now - has been for along time unless you live in the far north where they get plenty and I mean plenty of rain dont listen to the first remark - it is very racist The tropical north is fairly dry except for between November and February. The rest of the country is usually driest between November and April. But right now, the whole country is experiencing the worst drought in its history. If I was going to Aussie, I'd pick a time when it was raining. It depends on where you want to go. Perth, Adelaide and Melboutne have dry summers and wet winters. Sydney and Brisbane have dry winters and wet summers. Northern and eastern Australia have a summer/autumn maximum rainfall, southern Australia has a winter maximum.
