What is the average number of sunlight hours in New Zealand in June? On South Island.? |
Travel Info What is the average number of sunlight hours in New Zealand in June? Specifically on the south island? Thanks! Travel Tips The below reference provides the sunrise and sunset times at various locations across NZ. Not sure whether that is what you wanted or if you wanted to know how much of the time is sunshine vs rain and snow. In case you're not very familiar with NZ, Christchurch and Dunedin are both on the South Island. Both are on the east coast, Chch being about midway down the island and Dunedin about 2/3 of the way to the southern tip--it would be most similar to Queenstown, which is a popular visitor destination. http://www.christchurchnz.net/canterbury... says that the average sunshine hours in June are 120 hours (vs 209 in January). The East Coast of the South Island is much sunnier than the West Coast, so if you are more interested in the West, count on it being probably half of Chch.
