Brazilian Portuguese "chato" Can someone explain this a bit more?

Travel Info
I know it means boring, but it seem that they use it a little different. Thanks

Travel Tips
Yes, it means boring. But, sometimes and in somewhere (in Rio, for example), chato is used for a guy really very good in a field. Too much good that he gives no chance to the others, so, any competition lost the fun.
For example, brazilian yachting world champion, Robert Scheidt. He is eight times world champion, two times olimpic champion. About him, some guys may to tell: "Este cara 茅 muito chato", some like "this guy is so good that there's no fun to cheer for others".

If you see Jimmy Page playing a guitar solo, you may tell "this guy is very 'chato'! He never play a wrong note!".

Well it can mean more than boring depending on how it is used. If you or something bother someone, you can be called "chato" also for doing that.
Well, I'm brazilian and we use "chato" when we want to tell that someone, something or a situation is boring, or when a person is talking or only talks boring things etc. For instance:

Mike 茅 chato
(Mike is boring)

Essas aulas de franc锚s s茫o chatas
(These french's classes are boring)

Trabalhar aqui 茅 muito chato
(Work here is very boring)

Ps: I don't speak english very well, so I don't know if everything I wrote is correct.
Chato means something boring, bored, not fun, not friendly.
It has nothing to do with boring. It is more like anal retentive, poor sport, no fun. When your parents are away on vacation and your friends want to have a party in your house and definetely it will not be a problem but you still say no, you are "muito chato"
chato is boring in the sense of wanting something new there are words like maC,ar that new boring as in tyring
"chato" means boring or annoying

you pronounce it "shahto"

Eu odeio meu irm茫o! Ele 茅 t茫o chato!
-I hate my brother! He is so annoying!-

and the other form is

Este lugar 茅 t茫o chato, nada interessante acontece.
-This place is so boring, nothing interesting happens-

Get it?
