Where else is good to stay in Brazil during the carnival apart from Rio?

I'm travelling to Brazil in February but want to stay somewhere other than Rio for the Carnival. It's fully booked already and we will probably be further up the coast by then anyhow. Any suggestions?

I麓m from Brazil.
If you like beach, you should go to "Fernando de Noronha" or "Angra dos Reis". If you like nature, you should go to "Bonito". If you want to know more about Brazil麓s history, I recommend you "Ouro Preto".
All these cities have their own carnival also.
