Is Montreal a good place for a Honeymoon? ...And Quebec City?

Travel Tips
If you want the atmosphere of Europe but don't want to have to spend the money to go there, then Montreal and Quebec City are both good cities to visit on your honeymoon.

In Montreal, you can walk through the old port area, take a horse-drawn buggy (caleche) ride around parts of the town, eat dinner on a seaway cruise, visit the casino, and experience great food and a great nightlife. If you and your wife are "sexually adventurous", there are strip joints that you can both go to, check out the dancers, then re-enact the dances in the honeymoon suite. You can stay at the Queen Elizabeth or Ritz-Carlton hotels for a night at a luxury hotel, or just have brunch at the Ritz on the Sunday morning.

Quebec City is much more historic with its stone fort walls running through the city, cobblestone roads, and old buildings. It is a bit more subdued at night than Montreal, but still has lots of things to do. During the day, there are river cruises for whale watching and relaxing.

In both cities, you will get the French atmosphere (signs, people talking, great food) but do not be alarmed if you do not speak it. In both Montreal and Quebec, most of the tourist areas and store owners can speak both French and English.

Someone mentioned Niagara Falls. This is a great spot for honeymoons as well, although I find that it tends to be a bit too touristy now. It reminds me a bit of Las Vegas for some of the tacky hotel rooms, casinos, and tourist traps. However, obvious choices there are the Maid of the Mist boat ride and the Niagara Botanical Gardens. They have horse and carriage tours there too. Source(s): Montreal/Quebec Cruises

Sure if you speak French!! But if you dont speak French, I would go to Niagra Falls, it is soo beautiful there and newly married couples have been going there for many many years!
It looks good and very romantic from the pictures I see. Go to Yahoo Travel, and check out "reviews". You can tell what others who have been there think of the place - good or bad.

Sure it is.
Quebec city the only North American fortified city whose walls still exist.( Old Quebec )
quebec city yes. i went there for my honeymoon.
montreal. well, montreal is highly over rated. the people are the most unfriendly i 've ever met. i've lived all over canada and montreal is not what they say it is. many of my friends have left it too, because they too found it to be highly overrated. lots of self -centered people :(
