Whats a nice city to live in canada that is very cheap? |
Travel Info no where in saskatchewan please Travel Tips calgary, vancouver or toronto maybe it depends on what type of mobey ypu have are u rich or poor Others i think quebec is good. or somewhere in ontario. y would u want to move to canada though (australia's the BOMB!) lol None of the cities first listed are cheap. You might try some of the smaller cities in British Columbia. I live in a relatively inexpensive area on Vancouver Island, if you're interested in a more quiet laid back lifestyle. I like London Ontario, it is cheap especially compared to Toronto (very expensive) and only two hours from Toronto. The winters aren't that bad either of course we get snow but it's not usually that bad. There is 340,000 people which to me is not too much and not too little. The summer usually hangs around 20 to 33 C (sometimes hotter only for a few days then it goes back to normal). Pretty good beach weather though. Stay away from the Toronto area, very expensive example: a dumpy house in Toronto could be around $300,000.00. In London you can buy a nice size brand new house in an expensive neighbourhood for the same price. <British Colombia is more expensive then Toronto and unbelievably more expensive compared to London.>I forgot to add apartments are around 550 a month for a one bedroom or 650 for a two bedroom etc. I pay 635 for a two bedroom townhouse in a VERY good neighbourhood three bedrooms is 705 and 4 is 755. (+ hydro and gas heat they pay for water).Good luck in your search! Hope I helped! One more thing: Atlantic Canada's weather is terrible. It is always raining in the spring/summer or snowing in the fall/winter. Watch "The Weather Network" for Canada and you will see what I mean. Stay clear of Toronto..prices are sky-high. A tiny condo will cost you $250,000 and an apt $1000 a month. Kingston on the other hand offers apts for $650, transportation is $1 and food is cheap. Lots of FREE entertainment, good schools, two universities, great nature trails. Western cities like Brandon, Regina and Winnipeg are not overpriced but terribly cold in winter. Maritimes are cheapest of all but amenities are fewer. Most friendly people in ALL of Canada are from New Brunswick. You will NOT see a sour face or an unwilling hand in that province. Quebec is beautiful and not overpriced but bilinguality is almost a must with their present language laws. You don't state if you are looking for a retirement home or a working place. THAT makes all the difference. WHY NOT SASKATCHEWAN??? Where else are you gonna live that is cheap? Newfoundland? Maritimes? Saskatoon is a wonderful, inexpensive city... The further you go from the larger urban areas, generally the cheaper it is to live. As shelter is one of the biggest expenses, check average house prices for various places. You have to keep in mind cheap does not always mean a great quality of living. Access to health care and entertainment and large shopping malls may not be available and you may have to travel for such luxuries. 100 000 K will go further in Atlantic Canada than Southern Ontario. Elliot Lake Ontario is a former Uranium mining town that is being sold successfully as a retirement community where homes are inexpensive as are rental homes. So you may be thinking towns as opposed to cities. |
