Can a Canadian woman move to the U.S. ?

I live in Ontario, Canada and my fiance lives in Davenport, Iowa. We have been in a realtionship for two years now. Can I move there to live with him and can my 14 yr old daughter go to High School there and if so What do I have to do? We would like to go there before school starts up in September.

now wife came from Chatham, Ontario. If you and your man agree, take a trip down to Miami, Oklahoma to be married on the spur of the moment in just 1 day. As far as your daughter is concerned, I believe she can go to school, if your paperwork is already in the works. If you get married in US everything will be easier. It took start to finish, 2 1/2 months and her immigration was done. I hope this helps. I have immigrated to Canada now. Maybe it would be best to look up homeland security tho.

You should really consult the INS (now dept of homeland security). The easiest way to enter the US is on a VISA - preferrably for employment. If you and your fiance are getting married - the moving process will be easier for you once you're married. As for getting your daughter in school - you should contact the school board in Iowa - and find out what she will require in terms of transcripts, vaccinations and documents.
I really recommend that your fiance contact an immigration attorney for the best advice. the INS frowns on those who marry simply to get "a foot in the door". Even though this is not so in your case, it would be best to go directly to the source for your information.
