If I move to the Yukon or NorthWest territories will I get paid some money to live there? |
Travel Info If I move to the Yukon or NorthWest territories will I get paid some money to live there? Travel Tips Probably not. Some companies will pay moving expenses, and there are some benefits such as income tax credits for northern residents, but other than that no. There was an issue with the doctors a few years ago, not sure if it still happens. The government was trying to make it a requirement that after graduation, doctors would have to spend at least one year in a northern community as part of the agreement to obtaining their license to practice in Canada. I think they eliminated that now though, because it was pushing health professionals to move out of Canada and practice in the States or elsewhere, and resulting in doctor shortages. Others you sure will if you get a job like the rest of us think we are dence if we paid people to live in NWT every 1 would be living there not directly, but there is something to do with taxes and living that far north ...and if you're on welfare, you get a northern allowance which is not very much, but does exist. Some jobs do pay an "isolation" fee or wage if you are working in a remote area (usually about 200-400 miles from nearest city). I know teachers & bankers can qualify. It is not a huge amount of money. are you ever saw government of canada give free money? or just take the money? were you find all this nasty information, man, government of canada just looking to take more and more money from new comers , |
