Have you ever traveled across the Canadian border in a vehicle that has both a Canadian and US citizen.? |
Travel Info My boyfriend is Canadian and I am a US citizen. We both have passports, we are aware of the requirement. I am concerned about the attitude of the border guards. We will be traveling to Canada together and then back through the US border via Maine in a vehicle. Has anyone ever experienced this? What should I expect? Travel Tips Sure. I've crossed the border in mixed company many times. No problem - if you both have passports and aren't trying to smuggle anything in either direction, you won't have any problems. Others if you have your passports and nothing to hide..there should be no problem...we do this all the time..My nephew meets up with girls at camp and has gone the last few summers for a few weeks to Pennsylvannia with them...he is 17..has his license and has never had a problem. Thousand Island bridge crossing. Look u have no need to worry. If you are both of age, have drivers licenses, and birth certificates you will have no problem with the border guards unless they think u have something to hide. My husband and I cross all the time in both Calias/St Stephen and Houlton. Sometimes they do randomly pick a car and search it but if you've done nothing and are hiding nothing it is just an inconvience. Yes, I have many experiences. The worst was when they asked us where we were headed! We could not think of the name of the hotel - it was terrible! LOL You have nothing to worry about. There is no law that forbids Canadians from travelling with US citizens. |
