In your opinion, what made Canada what it is today? |
Travel Info People, events etc. Travel Tips Linda R has it almost right. The US is a "melting pot" where once you arrive you are expected to adopt the American way of life and give up your old customs. In Canada we grew to be who we are by welcoming people from all over the planet and we call our society a "multi-cultural society" which implies that once you come here you are encouraged by our governments to maintain all of the culture of your old life as long as it does not conflict with the laws of Canada. All though all of Canada's major cities are multicultural however Toronto and the (GTA) is known as the most culturally diverse city in the world, and as a Torontoian this is what I really enjoy.......you can literally travel to various counties just walking a couple of block in any direction. The smells and foods the music........can't think of another city I'd rather live in or close to. Others The immigration of millions of people coming here to start a new and better life ! We are a melting pot of different races and cultures ! We are an example to the world that all people can live together as one and get along !! That's what made Canada what it is today!!!!! |
