Travelling from montreal to edmonton, need information on bus services!? |
Travel Info hi i will be travelling to edmonton at the end of this month, i was wondering if there was an altrenative bus route that i could have other than greyhound! any suggestions????? Travel Tips Take the train. Its faster and more comfortable. Via rail to Union station Toronto, then CN to Edmonton. Have a nice trip Others Unfortunetly Greyhound is the only way, I have travelled to B.C 2 times, and from Manitoba . the problem is that Greyhound unlike in the US hasa monopoly in Canada, and it is based out of Calgary, that trip will route you through Ottawa and you may end up transfering buses in Sudbury. I t take almost 4 days to go to Vancouver, once you hit Winnipeg, like VIA rail they head north through Sasketchewan, Sasktoon and directly to Edmonton on the Yellowhead Trail Hwy. So figure at least 3 days, when I came back to SOnt in 2005 it took 18 hours from Winnipeg to Toronto. Yeah for the bus your stuck. But if you are looking to travel cheap keep your eye on air prices and dive in if you see a seat sale (WestJet and Air Canada in general match each other's prices) the cost (considering you have to buy food for 4 days) might not be that different if you book at the right time. If the point is you don't like flying then there is always the train (Via Rail) which is fun but much more expensive. Bon voyage |
