What ID does my child need for travel into Canada from the United States? |
Travel Info My wife and I will be traveling with our 18 month old son into Nova Scotia from Maine this weekend and are unsure of what ID he will need other than a birth certificate to enter Canada and of course, return to the US after our vacation. Can anyone provide me this information? Travel Tips None of you need a passport to travel to Canada by LAND until after January 2008. You all need certified birth certificates, adults need government issued picture I.D. It would be good to carry baptismal certificate if available, or doctor bills, some other proof that the baby is your son. See website below. Source(s): http://www.cohoferry.com/faq_identificat... Other Travel Tips I am pretty sure all you need is his birth certificate and your to have all your id's on you, so they can verify that you are the parents.....Best thing to do is call custom's and ask them. They can give you all the details. All travelers are required to have a Passport. Its a new law that went into effect. beliz62 The id your child needs to get to Canada is a Passport For this weekend? You don't have time to do much of anything, so bringing the birth certificate is the best you can do. Do you have one that has the baby's footprint on it? Or is it just a short form? For future travel, you can have your child put on his mother's passport, which will make life a whole lot simpler. |
