I dont get the Indiana part...as thats not near Canada...but to get here you need your birth certificates and a letter from your mother if your travelling only with dad to ensure he is bringing you across with her knowledge. Should have your birth certifcate too. Yes, you can use american money here...exchange is about 9 cents....so if you buy something at the dollar store...with tax its 1.14 so your only giving them about $1.03. But get some Canadian money..its fun our $1 is a coin called a loonie, and our $2 is a coin called a toonie and the rest of our money is coloured...$5.00 is blue and $10.00 is purple. When my nieces were small they really liked the purple!! Its exceptionally hot this summer, I was in the lower part of New York State..this morning and it was 10 degrees hotter here...so pack your sunscreen and make sure dad gets a hotel with a pool!!

If you fly into cananda you need a passport and a picture id, for all..if you fly into new york and drive into cananda, you need a birth certificate and picture id. I just got back from ontario and its beautiful but expensive. Have a great time

over in Canada, their currency is Canadian dollars. Right now the exchange rate is working your way (a dollar is worth more than a Canadian dollar). But things can get pretty expensive. Since it is farther north it is bound to be colder than where ever you live, although it can still get warm. Hope this helps.
Dad works for the Canadian embassy and has been over 10 times
My only question is are you coming to canada or going to Indiana? Indiana is an american state.

If you are coming to Canada... here you go
Our weather is quite similar to any other northern state. for Weather details check out www.weathernetwork.ca and type in the city you are travelling to. This will help you plan your clothing choices.

Other than that, there are not many things that are different from here and the USA. Perhaps some words and some food but you should be able to find anythign you are looking for. We have Wendy' s, MacDonalds KFC ect.

As for the Canadian Dollar, we are almost at par with the USA right now.
many cities do take american money, but it would be in your best interest and that way you would get the best exchange rate to change over your money either at a bank or a currency exchange location near where you are visiting.
Well it depends on which part of Canada you are visiting, and when! It's been quite warm in Ontario lately, like 25-30+ Celcius (77-86 F). Summers in most parts of this country actually do get quite warm - we're not in the Arctic circle like some people seem to think.

Most stores will accept American currency, but you won't get as good of an exchange rate. You're better off getting your money exchanged at a bank.

Bring good walking shoes and a camera - this is a beautiful country and you'll want lots of pictures!
if your mom is not going she needs to write a detailed letter saying that she gives your dad permission to take you and your sister across the boarder. And it should be notarized. (to show he isn't kidnapping you) Some places will let you pay with American cash over the counter, but not every where. I would probably go ahead and get Canadian money. The Canadian dollar was 95 cents on the us dollar last time I checked(about a week ago)

the weather can change daily, so I would take some summer clothes and some jeans and a hoodie for evening.
