How does looking for a job in Canada compare with the USA?

Travel Info
I'm talking about resumes, interviews, testing etc. Any big differences. Do more people work for the government in Canada? What about vacations? More time off than the US?
What is the usual retirement age? Do most companies have pensions? Is there social security?

Travel Tips
Resume's,inertviews, testing is the same. I wouldn't really say everybody works for the government but the government has their hand your training. Yes to vacations, and should you quit before your vaction, employer is required by law to give you your vacation pay. Yes there is more time off with pay than in the US (I'm American). Retirment age can depend on your union but no later than 65. Bigger companies do have pensions. There is Social Insurance here & Old Age Pension,
Social Insurance is the same as Social Security & Old Age Pension is a $500 a month added Canadian bonus. Canada is heavy into unions so you would write your training tests at a government building so you can be licensed to make more money. Canadians don't mind paying as long as what they are getting is worth it. But there is a pretty long process you have to go thru as far a immigration before you start doing any of this. It is worth all the trouble. Now you hear people talk about the high tax rate, it's true but you can see EXACTLY what your money is going for, healthcare and so on. Right now in my town they are putting ALL new sidewalks in my town. This country is very clean and well kept and Canadians pride themselves on keeping it that way.
Others
Canada has a nationalized employment program, which makes it a lot easier to find the type of work you're interested in, but you have to be a citizen, I think...
Your retirement and health care is protected in Canada by their government -- the taxes are insane there too..
