Can I drive my dad's car from Canada to US?

I was just wondering if US customs would have a problem with me driving my dad's car to the US? The ownership is under his name.

I drive my dad's truck across the border regularly. Most don't even ask who the owner is. If they do, they will ask if you have his permission. An honest yes will normally suffice, but some border guards can be pricks. To bypass the pricks, have your dad write a permission note with his signature and emergency cell phone number. You shouldn't have a problem at all, just look honest and make sure you are completely legal in other aspects. Don't carry over liquor bottles, drugs, and make sure you don't have a criminal record, and you're good to go.

it is illegal to drive your dads car without his permission but i don't care.
Typically I have never had to even show registration for border crossings. It has been a few years though. If you are worried. Have your father write a letter authorizing you to do this and have it notarized. that along with the registration should be sufficient.

Customs doesn't normally ask for the registration of the vehicle.

I've only gone through once where they asked me who's car it was. I told them it was my mothers. They didn't ask to see the registration all they said was "Would your mother be okay with you taking her car out of the country?" I just said "Yep!" and that was that.

Just make sure you have your licence, registration and insurance just in case. But I really doubt they'll ask. =)

Have fun! And watch out for those damn traffic lights in the U.S., they're different looking and differently set up. =D
