Border crossing..by land? Canada!? |
Travel Info Is harder to cross throu Canada or Mexico...which is harder...maybe not harder....but which is more strict? Travel Tips More people are killed by the land crossing north into Arizona and by seas off Florida. Canada until 9-11 was, by standard of today, wide open. I routinely traveled by small boat without official inquiry but now new radar and fast custom vessels do not ignore same crossings. Even small kayak at night in sea storm was intercepted at beach landing recently. Given a choice I'd rather not risk the wrath of Mexico. Others Both are simple and straightforward, they ask, you answer, you go.............. I've personally never been down to Mexico, but I've been to Canada plenty of times. I've always had a fairly easy time getting into Canada. I would think Mexico would be a little more strict. But that's just my guess. It is much harder coming across Mexico. After all Canada/US border is the longest unprotected border in the world. been to both Mexico an d Canada Mexico is easier to get into but then about 40 miles into it you cannot go further unless you pay a government visitors tax. I have been both places and I got hassled more going into USA than either Canada or Mexico. If you are not doing anything illegal, it will not be a problem. |
