Travel Tips Someone told me they just heard on the 11:00 o'clock news after this weekend (6/22/07) they won't be allowing any Americans into Canada for the next 6 months. Apparently its because so many U.S. citizens are trying to visit Canada before the change in passports take place. It put a huge stress on the immigration computer network or something so they have to stop people from crossing the border until they get it fixed because they are worried that illegal immigrants will try to get out of the U.S. and into Canada Others If you're flying to Canada you need a passport to re-enter the US. If you're driving, a passport will be good,driver's license or birth certificate. The same requirements as any other American citizen. Have a nice holiday. The laws have changed since 9/11. It used to be just a driver's license. Now take your driver's license, passport, and just in case there are any questions copies of your naturalization papers. Make sure someone Stateside knows your itinerary and has contact info for where you will be. Since it will be a family affair, everyone going will need to bring photo ID with them (driver's license and passport just to be safe). As for anyone under age 16, a notarized birth certificate should be OK. Never hurts to be over prepared.
