Can you explain alberta health care? |
Travel Info i recently moved from ontario to alberta... in ontario we have health cards called OHIP that are "free" we don't pay any premiums. i'm trying to apply for an alberta health card and they are saying that there are premiums every 4 months to pay? any info on this would be nice Travel Tips i moved to and from alberta from Ontario and in ontario you do pay for your healthcare it just comes out of your taxes on your paychecks. In alberta it comes out of pocket. many employers help pay for this too. both my husband and I had our employers cover half the cost of the family (because of our kids we had family coverage) so in the end we never paid for it. check to see if your employer will pay for it after a certain number of months. Others -health care is an individual issue no matter where you live., http://www.healthcare.com In Alberta we pay for our health care based on whether you are single or a family. I have a family and we pay $88/month. If you are a low income family you can apply for a subsidy. http://www.health.gov.ab.ca/ahcip/ahcip_... |
