Whats it like crossing the border from us to canada? |
Travel Info is there alot of paperwork and crap. or do the mounties just stamp your passport and say move along. whats the process? Travel Tips To get into Canada, it's really easy, it's just getting back into the US that's the hard part, car checks, passport checks, and some paper work if you have been away for a while. Others no paper wworks. just show your citizenship card and smile.... well I live in Michigan and I have been to Canada alot... when we drive through they ask you your citizenship and sometimes ask for id.....and then they usually ask you were your destination will be and how long you will be staying.... its really pretty simple... i'd call up the agencies in partisan do your research for sure kind of funny you ask they posted something similar for mehico and us borders http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19337264/... well we have border police much as you do . we don't arm ours . they are not the mounties . they are people who work at the border only . the police the RCMP or other police are most often nearby . checks are about the same as it is going to the USA. one thing is that in Canada we have a central data base and so we don't miss things that the people in the USA do because of what state a person might have been in . we don't do much more or less then the USA people do . as for how it will be if you cross or attempt to cross that is up to you and them . but mostly you . if your a good person not a terrorist or a drug dealer then you most likely will just get a nice day carry on kind of trip . other wise you if your bad you will end up tied with four ropes to the RCMP horses and then the horses will all run in different directions and you will know what it means to be quartered It must to be most easily than mexican-Usa Border where you could delay more than 2 hours in car, or almost 40 minutes by walking, the police check almost all the time everything, car motor, gas, all your papers, clothes, ect. Noone pinches your shoe laces anymore. |
