What exactly you can do will depend a bit on which time of year you go. Outside of the summer you are likely to encounter rain for at least part of the time you are there so be prepared for that. As suggested by another post, a ferry ride to Vancouver Island is lots of fun. I'd recommend a day trip to Nanaimo. Have fun. Others Stanley Park is great. See the aquarium, see the park and the horse rides. The museums and the shopping . Visit the UBC university. Spend a day at Whistler - 3 hours away. It is the best N American city - bar none.
