Is it true that the weather in British Columbia is not usually that cold?

I've heard that the it's not as cold as the other parts in Canada. In fact It has a nice weather hardly below zero (d celsius). Is that right?

It depends on what part of the province you are in. In the northern part the winters are very cold- but in the southern parts winter is very mild- sometimes below zero but not often.
If you are right on the coast of BC the winter is much milder than the rest of the country. Even the second answer that says it is North/South has it wrong! Yes, not much snow, not much days below zero C. I have seen worst winters in Victoria than on the North Coast. Having said that, we are talking about averages, and some winters can be worse than others.

This link says the average for Vancouver is 51 days a year below zero - over 5 months.

Lived all my life on the coast of BC, and 2/3rds of that on the North Coast, 40 miles from the Alaska boarder
The weather in BC is much milder than most of the rest of Canada - but it depends where in BC you are. If you stay in the south part of BC the temp rarely dips below 0 - especially if you're in Vancouver. Interior BC gets a lot of snow though - mild temps but lots of precipitation.
