Car Rental Hire in Ontario (around the Hamilton Area)?

Travel Info
Hi,
I am flying into Hamilton (Ontario), Canada at start of August for 5 weeks travelling. For transport, I want to hire a rental car for the practicality of being able to travel independantly. I am reluctant to pay the premium rates through a large national firm (ie: Avis, Alamo etc) so wonder for any advice on renting locally when I get over there. Is this a good idea?...any advice will be much appreciated!. (also I am 21 years old so this may have a bearing on a rental contract).
Pete

Here is a list of rental agencies in that area, the only thing you may want to do is verify the age limit, the ones in my area is 24 yrs. old for insurance purposes. Hope you enjoy your trip and good luck!

I have always found that Enterprise offers the best rates, and they always have new vehicles. I've rented from them several times, once even in Hamilton (right at the airport). They offer weekly rates, and even give you unlimited kilometers as long as you are staying within the province of rental.

21 is old enough to rent a car, but for insurance reasons, people under 25 usually cannot rent bigger or more expensive vehicles like SUVs, trucks, vans, or sports cars. You shouldn't have any trouble getting a normal car though.
