Travel Tips
Well we have a long weekend list from our company so I'll just type it in here:

August 6 (civic holiday)
Sept 3 (labor day)
Oct 8 (thanksgiving day)

To David H. FYI the provinces who has August 6 as a civic holiday are Ontario, New Brunswick, Manitoba, BC, PEI, Saskatchewan, Alberta & NW Territories
Others
Monday August 6th. It is always the first Monday in August.

Those dates are correct, BUT, not every province has a civic holiday that weekend, it is only Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Nova Scotia.

If you not in that province or area travelling to one of those listed, civic hoildays due incur some closures like banks and govenment offices, grocery stores, liquor and beer stores are generally open and there is no mail dleivery.
Monday August 6, BUT only in Ontario , Alberta, Manitoba and British Columbia!!!
