What are the entry requirements for a U.S. citizen to go to Canada? |
Travel Info My family is going to be in NY this summer and want to go to Canada for a day or two, since I have never been. Travel Tips If crossing by land make sure everybody has birth certificates, drivers licenses or other government issued I.D. If you plan on crossing by air, you will need passports. For more info check this site out. What else you are allowed to bring, etc... http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel/visito... Others Land and sea travelers are encouraged to have a valid U.S. passport. If they do not have a passport, they should be prepared to provide a government-issued photo ID (e.g. Driver's License) and proof of U.S. citizenship such as a U.S. birth or naturalization certificate.
