Customs at Canadian Border? |
Travel Info Can anyone tell me what to expect when going through the border from American to Canada on vacation? What will they need to check? I don't have a passport, so what will I need to get through and back? Thanks! Travel Tips You'll just need your drivers license. They will ask you whats the purpose of your trip, how long your staying, where your headed too. Just simple questions. Be prepared if you have a customs officer on a power trip, cause they might want to search your car. Its not uncommon for that to happen. Sometimes its just a random thing they do to fill their quota. Other than all that, just be honest with them and you wont have no problems. Others You need a drivers licence to cross the border. Photo ID for the rest of the people in your car. Enjoy your stay in Canada You can expect a huge line up. Getting in is easy. Do not try to bring guns into Canada. Getting back into the US is difficult so have all the US paper you have ready. Do not look non white. Really it's not that big of a deal. Answer a couple simple questions, show birth cert. & drivers license & any other occupants of vehicle do same & your off. For driving nothing much has changed. You neeed a birth certificate (to show citizenship) and government issued photo ID.
